YouTube Video – High Ridge Spirits and Mighty Grow Organics
Moonshine is a multi-million dollar business in the U.S., and it is not uncommon to hear of stills being shut down and their owners arrested with frequency still today. In fact, it happens each year right here in Alabama; but that’s not slowing down the State’s newest legal distillery, where business is booming. A lot of attention has been paid to the growing microbrew movement in Alabama, but on Oct. 23, 2013, another signature achievement in Alabama was quietly achieved — the first legal sale of an Alabama-produced liquor.

Their white whiskey, Stills Crossroads Alabama ‘Shine, carries a potent punch and its high demand is creating a large splash in an otherwise ailing local economy.
With each new product, High Ridge Spirit’s economic impact continues to grow. “As we enter new markets, that in turn will lead to more jobs created,” Hall said.“ Mighty Grow Organics of Fruitdale, Ala, currently has organic rye under cultivation for us and we are working with start-up company, Bama Hopps, to develop a malting process for that rye.”
